Welcome

Welcome to The Plug - a grass roots NGO registered in Ghana. The Plug's function is to plug the hole of humanitarian abuses and brain drain in Africa. We are doing this by starting in a small part of Africa, the Volta Region, Ghana - by effectively rehabilitating the community through advocacy and partnership in order to stop the cycle of trafficking of children in the Volta Region. We work with policy makers and support programmes that save lives in partnership with governments, non-governmental organizations, corporations and affected communities. Saving children from trafficking requires the strategic coordination and deployment of resources, skilled partners and practical solutions on the ground. We work to involve the public and lobby policy makers and governments to invest in children's lives. We are dedicated to saving the next generation of children.  Read more...

EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Raindrops on PetalsCampaign Volta Region, Appeal.

There is a crisis of child trafficking and child labour exploitation in Ghana. West Africa.

The majority of trafficking victims in Ghana are children who according to a report by the Ghana Statistical Services are around 1.27million children, who are engaged in child labour. Most of these children are found in the fishing sector in the Volta Region. Children as young as 6 years old are diving for fish in brutal waters for hours on end, beaten mercilessly by their 'masters', barely eating, have no education and work endlessly without any sleep. Do help to build the Raindrops on Petals sustainable village for traumatised children by donating online.
